The Governing Board consists of 11 members from Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. The Board is composed of Government representatives from both Mainland and Zanzibar and representatives from the private sector and civil society. The Chairperson of the Board is the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury and has a Secretariat under the Chief Executive Officer.

Functions of the Governing Board The Governing Board has decision-making authority over implementation of the program and oversees the Secretariat and its staff. In this role, the Board is responsible for reviewing and approving certain actions of MCAT, including: 1. Implementation planning documents such as work plans, detailed financial plans, and procurement plans; 2. Periodic progress reports from the MCA-T Secretariat, including quarterly financial reports, audit reports and reports on progress towards meeting conditions precedent; 3. Requests for disbursement to MCC; 4. Agreements between MCA-T and the GoT or third-party contractors, including any changes or amendments; and 5. Governing procedures, structure or key staff members of MCAT, including staff at the Director level |
