UPCOMING EVENTS: 6TH -12TH APRIL 2009

From 5th to 10th April 2009, MCA-T is expecting to receive MCC expert on Environment and Social Assessment (ESA) from Washington. The primary goal of this mission is to review resettlement planning along Tanga-Horohoro Road in order to ensure final RAP meets MCC standards and facilitate a rapid and effective implementation of resettlement activities.
The experts will have meetings with MCA-T CEO, DCEOs and some Directors; this will be followed by site visits along Tanga Horohoro road.

Another expert mission will take place from 13th to 29th April to assist MCA-T and their contractors in their continued compliance with MCC Environmental Guidelines, Gender Policy, and World Bank OP 4.12 on Involuntary Resettlement during compact implementation. Orient roads contractors to MCC expectations regarding environmental and resettlement planning.

MCC Vice President Hon. Jonathan Bloom and Mr. David Weld were also expected to visit Tanzania from 5th - 8th April 2009for the purpose of reviewing our compact progress.
Unfortunately the visit has been cancelled due to the death of Bloom's mother in law.
