i) Expansion of the Lower Ruvu Water Intake;
MCC funding will be used to expand capacity of Lower Ruvu Water Treatment Plant serving the Dar es Salaam area, from about 180 million liters per day to approximately 270 million liters per day.


ii) Non Revenue Water;
This activity is intended to improve the system efficiencies of Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) and Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Company (DAWASCO) through reduction of non-revenue water. A comprehensive assessment of both the locations and volumes of physical leaks, billing and collection deficiencies and losses will be done with a view to device and implement measures that will substantially reduce the leaks and commercial losses.

iii) Rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply system for Morogoro Municipality.
Funding for this activity is intended to improve water supply in Morogoro municipality and help Morogoro Water and Sewerage Authority (MORUWASA) move towards achieving financial sustainability. The specific activities include:-

a) Rehabilitation of Mambogo water intake and water treatment plant to restore its capacity to produce approximately 6 million liters per day, and
b) Improve water transfer in the existing distribution network, including rehabilitation of Mafiga water treatment plant facilities, about 1.9 km of pressure main, and associated works.
